Shuko Suzuhara (鈴原 萩子 Suzuhara Shūko) is Misaki's mother and Shoko's elder sister.
Physical Appearance[]
Shuko has blue eyes, and long wavy brown hair that flows past her shoulders.
Personality[]
According to the manga, Shuko has social anxiety disorder, which made her greatly hesitant to interact with those she loves.
In the anime she can be a hypocrite when she encourage Yuko Inada to see her son Osamu when she haven't seen Misaki over 7 years.[1]
Plot[]
Shuko, or "Shu" as she is called when playing Angelic Layer, is the undisputed champion with her angel Athena, having won the past three national championships.
Anime[]
Shuko left Misaki at the age of five to be taken care of by her grandparents under the guise of work, when in reality, Shuko was going to Tokyo to search for a cure for her disease. This disease inhibits nerve signals from reaching to or from her legs. Ichiro Mihara was a doctor attempting to work with her to find a cure when the two started Angelic Layer as a way to do research and raise funds.

Etymology[]
- Her given name Shuko (萩子) means "bush clover child."
- Her surname Suzuhara (鈴原) means "bell field."
